Help Rescue the Bees

Help Rescue the Bees is an interactive information graphic designed for children and young adults. We have witnessed that bees have been on a gradual decline for many years now, which is most commonly known as the "colony collapse disorder." Help Rescue the Bees was designed to inform young children and families about the bee decline and provide a fun and educational outlet to learn about ways in which they can do their part to help.

The Project

This project was first introduced in my Information Design Course. The objective of the project was to design for advocacy. We were to choose a topic that we had a particular interest in and create a design thats create positive action. We were assigned to create an 16 page pamphlet (not represented on this page) and a digital publication.

The Design

While researching I found that the information graphics revolving around bees had a lot to do with what the crisis was and not so much on how we as individuals could help. I took this as a perfect opportunity to create something different and targeted my design towards youth and families in particular. I chose this audience because there are so many little household and school related ways in which they can contribute their time to helping the bees. Teachers can use them as an activity or class project and families can make them on a lazy Sunday afternoon.  The ways to help are fun and simple enough for the target demographic and provides and the design provides an educational outlet for children and families interested in the contributing to making change.
